BronchoPhase Helps Patient Recover From Deep Cough

in Cough, Product Reviews

I have a 64-year-old female patient who is plagued by yearly bouts of bronchitis, arriving with regularity in early winter and again in early spring. Her first symptoms are those of a basic viral cold, with a sore, scratchy throat followed by “swollen glands” in her neck and under her jaw. From there, if not dealt with immediately, the cold drops into her chest and remains there for six to eight weeks. Her symptoms at that point will include “high-pitched wheezy noises” from her chest when lying down that “sound like small animals fighting” (patient’s description), plus frequent, persistent coughing spasms that can be so severe she loses bladder control. The patient must sleep sitting up in order to breathe at night. Her energy is very low throughout the illness.

She first came to me during what she described as the “worst part” of her illness, and presented with a deep cough producing some yellow phlegm, sneezing, severe fatigue, and a slight temperature (99.4). She was prescribed a high dose of BronchoPhase (3 caps every three hours) plus ImmunoPhase (2 caps every three hours). After a few days, her illness had cleared up “dramatically,” “much quicker than it had in previous years.” She was, of course, thrilled with the results.

We can now work on building her immune system to prevent future attacks, but it’s great to know we have something in the arsenal that works so well if she does get sick.

Thanks,

Don Gates, L.Ac.

My husband has Parkinson’s and is on sinement, sinement ER, azilect, and clonazepam.
He has had pneumonia 3 times in the past year. He also is in the beginning stages of COPD. It had been recommended by my daughter to try the bronchoPhase for him. My question is, should he take this supplement along with what he is already taking? I’m sure that his doctors will not recommend it, but if it would help him, it’s worth a try.

Sonja, I do not see any contraindication for him to take the BronchoPhase while he is on the medications you listed. The main safety precaution that you must follow is that he should take any supplement, whether vitamins, minerals or herbs, at least 2 hours away from any medicines, whether prescription or over-the-counter. This can be a scheduling problem, since the generally recommended dose of BronchoPhase is 2 capsules, 3 times per day. He can take 3 capsules, 2 times per day if that makes scheduling easier. If BronchoPhase helps him feel better, than he can reduce the dose to 2 capsules, 2 times per day. Sincerely, John Steinke, L.Ac. 1-866-778-2646, ext 2.
